Hello,

When I heard that you and <name> had broken your engagement, I thought you might appreciate some words of sympathy and support. Getting married is such a huge step in anyone’s life. I think it was so wise of you to not rush into matrimony unless you were completely sure that it was right for you.

Situations like this often lead to a lot of “what ifs” and wondering if you did the right thing, not to mention embarrassment at having to tell your wedding guests that there won’t be a wedding after all. Perhaps it will help you to know that no one blames you or questions what you have done.

I hope that if there’s anything I can do to help you during this time of adjustment, you won’t hesitate to give me a call. I’ll be keeping you in my thoughts.

Regards,

Robert Anderson
