I found out through an acquaintance of mine who is an employee of yours that you have a job vacancy for the position of librarian.  I believe that I meet the requirements you have for the position and I would like to apply for the job.  I have attached my resume for your reference.

I graduated with a degree in Library Science at an excellent school.  I was one of the top students of our class and I was recognized for my good academic performance upon graduation.  I worked as a librarian for two years at a local school which I had to leave to pursue higher education.  My educational background and experience would allow me to perform the duties and responsibilities of a librarian well.

I hope to discuss with you my credentials further at your convenient time.  I will call your office within the week for an appointment.
