Having just heard through a friend of the opening for a veterinarian at your clinic, I wanted to respond immediately by sending a resume and letting you know of my interest in the position.

Although you and I met only briefly at a local convention a few years ago, I have great respect for your work and the work of some of your associates. I would like very much to be part of a practice that has a specialist in cardiology and associates who continue to do publishable research.

As my resume indicates, I have several years of experience as a small animal veterinarian here in Oceanside and 4 years of research experience at Colorado Springs University. I have maintained a university connection by teaching at La Jolla University, and I currently have a successful practice. I believe that these qualifications make me a strong candidate for your open position.
