How to Write a Resignation Letter

A resignation letter is a formal letter written by the leaving party to the management of an organization confirming that they are leaving, giving notice of departure and any other unfinished official business. To write a good letter, one needs to write simply, stating the facts correctly. The letter should be as short as possible. It should be authoritative without typing errors.

It is important to write the resignation letter so that one remains in good terms with management. Even though one did not like their job or is leaving in bad taste (either on the individual’s side or the organization’s side) and tactful or diplomatic departure is impossible, it is advisable to write the letter.
