Dear Charles,

I am writing this letter with the deep sense of gratitude as a consequence of your concern for your fellow workers and their good welfare. I would like to thank you for approving of my leave that I requested the previous week. I cannot express in words how much I have been able to do for my sick father. The leave has been a great benefit to me.

I would also like to tell you that my father has started to recover from his viral fever. I am well aware that the leave I requested caused an increase in the work load. However, in a feeble attempt to repay your gratitude, I would like to work extra time to finish the pending work. I would submit all the audit reports to the clients as early as possible.
