Dear Ms. Cook,

I was very pleased to see your advertisement for a regional wildlife agent in the most recent Journal of Forestry. Having spent several years as a regional wildlife agent in Michigan, I find that I really miss my home state of North Carolina. So I am enclosing my resume for your review.

As you can see from my resume, I received my Bachelor of Science in Wildlife, Fish and Conservation Biology from Durham State University and then spent over 10 years as a Fish and Game Warden in the Durham area. During this time I became familiar with state forestland in a radius that included Raleigh.

As a regional wildlife agent, I served as chairperson of a state-appointed committee to develop and implement a campaign to educate the public about environmental concerns and their responsibilities during recreational use of our protected areas. I have also been commended for my skills in training and supervising subordinates.

I believe that given my experience, education and knowledge of the region, I am a very strong candidate for your open position. I hope that we may meet or talk in the very near future.

Sincerely,

Martha Klingman
