A friend of mine in San Diego sent me a copy of your recent advertisement for a paramedic in the San Diego News. As specified, I am enclosing my resume for your review.
I believe that 4 years of experience as a medic in the Navy and several years of experience as a paramedic in West Chicago make me a strong candidate for your open position. I have treated an array of illnesses and injuries, received a special Navy commendation for my response during a crisis on base and earned top performance ratings in my current position.
Having been in Chicago since leaving the Navy, I find that I really miss California’s coast. I would be especially pleased to make San Diego my home. Also, my investigations indicate that I will have no trouble being certified by the State of California. It is simply a matter of completing some paperwork and verifying my certification in Illinois.
