Dear Ms. Cook,
I was excited to see your advertisement for an auditor in the Medford News because I have been wanting to return to my home state; returning to my home town of Medford would be a dream come true. In any case, I am enclosing my resume and some reference letters for your review.
As my resume indicates, in addition to my primary expertise in auditing banks and financial institutions, I have also worked since college years to develop computer skills. My computer knowledge has proved helpful to my firm on several occasions. I have also been commended for my communication skills and have had success working with some of the tougher clients for this reason.
Because it may seem from my resume that I have made several job changes in my career, please allow me to explain. I put myself through college working on computers and my job change in 1991 was due to a special programming internship opportunity. After earning my B.A. in Accounting, I went to Orlando based on a very good job offer. However, finding that I did not like living in Orlando, I decided to try Miami before making a final decision to return to Oregon.
I hope to have the opportunity to talk with you soon. Also, I can make the trip to Medford on fairly short notice. Thank you for your consideration of my application.
