Recommendation Letter

Recommendation letter is written for increasing the chance of being entertained by the employer or interviewer. A person should choose right person to write the recommendation letter.

The person writing the recommendation letter should feel that you are worthy for the recommendation.

Recommendation letter provides your information about your work, your character or your performance. An excellently written recommendation letter can greatly help you in getting the job that you are aspiring for.

You should write the relation of yours with the referrer. The recommendation letter can be closed with a summary or statement explaining the eligibility of the person to the job or position. The summary should also explain the reasons for recommending the applicant.

 

Format of Recommendation Letter

Date (Mention the date on which the letter is being written)

Name (Write down the name of the person to be recommended)

Name of the Institution (Mention the name of the Institute to which the person to be recommended belongs)

Address (Mention the complete address of the person to be recommended)

Telephone Number (You may even mention the contact number of the person to be recommended)

To whomsoever it may concern

Subject: Write a few sentence or a sentence stating the purpose of writing the letter

Paragraph 1: [State the purpose of writing the letter. Mention as to how you are associated with the person you are recommending.]

Paragraph 2: [Write about the qualification and skills of the person you are recommending. One must take care that the content is short and to the point. The recommender must not elaborate the points much.]

Date (Mention the date on which the letter is being sent)

Designation (Write down the Recipient’s Designation)

City/ State (Write the name of the City and State to which the recipient belongs)

Pin Code: (Write the Pin code)

Respected Sir/Ma’am (You may even right Mr. /Mrs. /Ms. Last Name to address the person)

Subject: Include the main purpose for writing the letter in one line.

First Paragraph: Introduce yourself and let the recipient know as to where you got his information from.

Second Paragraph: State the reason for writing the letter giving details. Write in a requesting tone.

Third Paragraph: Conclude the letter. Tell them the recipient that you await a positive response.

Permission Letters

Permission letter purpose is to give or seek permission for some action. Your letter for permission can be rejected if it is not constructed properly.

Permission letter can be written for seeking or giving permission. However, irrespective of its kind the letter needs to be written in formal tone.  Letter should clearly mention the purpose of writing the letter.

Letter can be brief and simple and yet persuasive when asking for permission. It is a document that is explicitly necessary for certain actions to take place otherwise it might give rise to various social, economical or legal issues.

It is also important to end the letter with a grateful tone even if the possibility of receiving permission is unlikely.
